DENSE

So dense are its trees.

For it is old, from a time before us all.

This park, an island in the suburbs.

So dense are its trees.

That looking in, you can’t see out.

You hesitate to enter, for you fear that you won’t get out.

So dense are its trees.

Full of secrets and ancient fears.

Of modern warnings by mothers, not to stray too far off the path.

TheKollektive_Dense_04

So dense are its streets.

That you can hide from the prying eyes of neighbors.

To forget the bland orderliness of suburbia.

So dense are its trees.

That you can almost get lost.

If it were not walled off by the safety of cul-de-sacs and streets.
