On November 9, 1989 we were living in West Germany, in a small town in Lower Saxony.
I had just run into the house from the playground. I don’t remember the reason, but my mom was in the living room with my little sister watching TV. She told me that the Berlin Wall was falling down.
Even at that age I knew this was an important moment. The reasons were a bit unclear and I didn’t fully comprehend the personal significance of the moment or its impact on my family.
So I stayed and watched the broadcasting of the first piece of the wall falling down & the outpouring of people through the fallen wall. I knew it would be a moment I would want to remember one day.
