What a Wonder

Many Canadians hope for an extended summer with warm and sunny October days, but sadly we all know there’s never a guarantee. The unpredictable weather changes from province-to-province and even from city-to-city. The weather for Thanksgiving Weekend was a chilly reminder of what’s to come, but the sunshine and blue skies were in full effect and made up for the extra layers … we forgot to pack. So with the extra day off and promising forecast we packed up for a road trip to Niagara Falls!

Friendly tip: If you are trying to sight see on a budget, then do not be like us and forget to pack a rain coat or stop by a dollar store to pick up a rain poncho. It’s a small detail that really comes in handy and you can always store in the trunk of a car for next time!

Living in Ontario since 1997 it was not our first time seeing the majestic Niagara Falls, but it was a mandatory visit because we had a guest staying with us for a few days. Besides, any reason is a good reason to get out of the city during October to enjoy those few weeks of colourful landscapes.

After taking photos and videos of the Falls, we walked over to check out Casino Niagara and Hard Rock Cafe next to Clifton Hill, a fun street full of attractions including haunted houses, arcades, souvenir shops, Guinness World Records Museum, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, and the Niagara SkyWheel to name a few.

The best part of the afternoon was all the rainbows we kept noticing, we lost count after seven! It added a magical touch to the experience and made us feel like perhaps somewhere, over one of those rainbows lies our pot of gold so we should stop wondering and start believing.
