Last month, Klara started experimenting with fruit smoothies for breakfast. I was slow on the up-take as I really enjoy my toast in the mornings & blender noise is not something that I enjoy in the morning. But, having indulged a bit this summer & being short of time in the mornings I decided to jump on the breakfast smoothie bandwagon.
I found a Kale, Apple & Banana Smoothie recipe on the Belle of the Kitchen Blog & it really is super easy to do.
Recipe for a single serving:
- 1/2 apple cut into slices
- 1/2 banana cut into slices
- Some fresh kale (I used 2 large leafs)
- 1 cup of orange juice
Put everything into a blender & voila! You are now enjoying your uber-healthy & tasty green breakfast smoothie.
One thing I will say about this recipe is that you should watch how much kale you use depending on what your liking of the taste is. The orange juice & apple give the smoothie a sweeter taste but the kale packs a punch so start off with less.
The whole process took me about 10-15 minutes. Not any longer than it takes me to make my morning toast.
