1938: When “girls” couldn’t do creative work

Today, creativity is not considered the skill of men but back in 1938 “creative work” was the domain of men and this rejection letter that I came across on the Fabulously Broke blog was the norm.

Can you imagine receiving a letter like this today?

Oh yes, the great gender pay disparity! I never understood how it was justified in the minds of people or not seen as a serious problem. I find that most people don’t believe it is true or really think that women just can’t be as “good” as something as a man. And when you point out them the error of their thinking, they look at you like you are trying to tell them the sky isn’t blue.
