The first computer I ever used was an Apple. It was in grade 4 and I had just moved to Canada from Europe. The elementary school I went to was lucky enough to have a Mac stocked “computer lab” in the Library. We had 10 of the brand-new Mac’s and a variety of other older models. Now that I think about it, our computer lab was a mini-Apple museum.
I still remember the first time I ran into the library for my first “computer class”. I think I got one of the “old Macs”. It looked like a tower and the screen was probably the size of a CD case. The teacher instructed us to log into our computers and get ready for our typing class. I remember thinking, “this computer thing is cool, but this typing thing is boring.”
